Is Poetry Dead?

I can imagine as I write this post some of you will light up with the mention of poetry and some of you will wilt. This week we will begin to look at poetry in earnest. For some it will be as easy go, but for others -- not so much.

This article is a response to the poem presented at President Obama's first inauguration and its impact or effect on the American public. It raises the titular question: Is poetry dead?
